Shirley Ann Conrad Pierce, 86, of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, passed away at home Tuesday, March 23, 2021, from a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
She was dearly loved and is survived by her husband of 66 1/2 years, W.E. “Gene” Pierce; her daughter, Mich-elle Grossniklaus, and husband, Albert, of Indianapolis, Indiana; and her son, Dale Pierce, of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other rela- tives. She and husband Gene celebrated 66 1/2 years of joyful marriage.
She retired in 2000 from First Citizens Bank in Garner, North Carolina, and was a member of Cape Fear Presbyterian Church in Lillington, North Carolina.
A Memorial Celebration will be observed later this year at a time and place to be announced.
Shirley Pierce and her husband lived in Marlinton from 1958 to 1965 when he was the minister at Marlinton Presbyterian Church.
