Samuel Vincent Epling, age 81, of Scott Depot, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016, at his home.
Born January 1, 1935, at Wyco, he was a son of the late Rev. Kester and Edith Hopson Epling.
Vince was a retired electrical engineer for the Department of Defense in Dover, New Jersey. He was a 1952 graduate of Charleston High School and in 1957 he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from West Virginia Tech in Montgomery.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Jocelyn Tinney and Sibyl Brooks.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Emma Pyles Epling; daughters, Roxanna Hammett, and husband, John, of Rockaway, New Jersey, and Tammy Orr, and husband, Chris, of Wharton, New Jersey; grandchildren, Melissa, Jason, Jessie, Sarah and Zachary; sisters-in-law, Thelma Shamblin, Mary McClure and Nellie Deusenberry, and husband, Gary, all of Dunbar; and a nephew, Joe Johnson, and wife, Jane, of Pomroy, Ohio.
Graveside service was April 5 at Ruckman Cemetery in Buckeye with Pastor Jim Dennis officiating.
