Ruth Burke

Ruth Auldridge Burke, age 90, of Linden, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017.

Born August 23, 1927, at Buckeye, she was a daughter of the late John and Mattie Burgess Auldridge.

Ruth was a graduate of Marlinton High School. She retired after 25 years with the Civil Service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Burke; a sister, Florence Woods; and two brothers, Norman Auldridge and Denver Auldridge.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Athey, of Salado, Texas, and Margie O’Donovan, of Hoover, Alabama; three sisters, Flora Lovelace, of Hotchkiss, Colorado, Dorothy Smith, of Bee Branch, Arkansas, and Cora Kelton, of Unadilla, Georgia; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; seven nephews; and five nieces.

Per her wishes, no service will be held.
