Rosalie Slaven

Rosalie H. Slaven, age 82, of Marlinton, formerly of Cass, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019, at Pocahontas Center in Marlinton.
Born February 7, 1937, in Bergoo, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Dorothy Hevener.
Rosalie worked and retired from Green Bank School and the National Radio Astronomy Observatory in Green Bank.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Slaven; brothers, Ralph, Ray and Robert; and a sister, Ruby.
She is survived by her grandson, Eric Slaven; a brother, Roland Slaven, of Mingo Junction, Ohio; sisters, Andra Summerfield, of Beverly, and Betty Defibaugh, of Elkins; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Thursday, March 14, 11 a.m. at VanReenen Funeral Home in Marlinton with Pastor Phillip Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Meadowland Cemetery in Bergoo at 2 p.m. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service.
