Rosalie Buzzard

Rosalie Frances Buzzard, age 74, of Huttonsville, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014, at her home.

Born January 16, 1940, at Warm Springs, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Elmer Mines, Sr., and Lucille Ford Mines Stephenson.

Rosalie worked as a cook at restaurants in Elkins, Marlinton and throughout Pocahontas County.

On December 20, 1956, she married Arch June Buzzard who preceded her in death on May 6, 1988.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Audrey Mines; three brothers, Elmer Mines, Jr., Ralph Mines and Danny Carter; and three sisters, Jean Hickman, Judy Haney and Connie Berry.

She is survived by three daughters, Lottie Pyles, and husband, Thomas, of Marlinton, Carolyn Cochran, and husband, Freddie, of Buckeye, and Dottie Buzzard, of Buchanan, Virginia; four sons, Scottie Buzzard, and wife, Shirley, of Marlinton, Mike Buzzard, and wife, Patricia, of Montpelier, Virginia, Elmer “Ike” Buzzard, and wife, Liliya, of Carrollton, Virginia, and Timmy Buzzard, and wife, Audra, of Craigsville; a sister, Jerry Shifflett, and husband, Irving, of Ruckersville, Virginia; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one step-grandchild.

The body was cremated. Memorial service is Friday, August 1, 5 p.m. at Kimble Funeral Home in Marlinton with Pastor Sam Felton officiating.
