Ronald Eugene Monk, age 76, of Boyer, passed away at his home, Thursday, January 1, 2015.
Born February 10, 1938, at Boyer, he was a son of the late Burnell Woodrow and Orpha Christina Rosburg Monk.
Mr. Monk was an Air Force Veteran, and retired from the National Radio Observatory in Green Bank.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wendell Monk.
He is survived by his wife, Polly Monk; a daughter, Suzi Monk, of Oakton, Virginia; granddaughters, Sam and Bri Gillis; sisters, Joan Barkley, and husband, Martin, of Boyer, and Gloria Greathouse, and husband, Buster, of Leonardtown, Maryland; brothers, Ed Monk, and wife, Margaret, of Bridgewater, Virginia, and Doug Monk, and wife, Ginger, of Elkins; a sister-in-law, Linda Monk, of Boyer; and extended family.
Memorial service was January 4 at Kerr Memorial Church at Boyer with Pastors David Rittenhouse and David Plank officiating. Military Honors were presented by the Pocahontas County Honor Corps. Interment in the Boyer Cemetery will be held at a later date.
