Robert McLaughlin

Robert Max McLaughlin, Jr., age 52, of Marlinton, died Friday, April 12, 2019, at his home.

Born December 2, 1966, at Harrisonburg, Virginia, he was a son of the late Robert Max, Sr. and Dorothy Marie Hansford McLaughlin.

Junior was a farmer and horseman. He was a life member of the American Quarter Horse Association and a member of New Hope Church of the Brethren.

He is survived by his daughters, Marlee Kate McLaughlin and Myra Sage McLaughlin; companion, Amy Vandevender; sister, Edmonia McLaughlin, and companion, Bernie; brothers, Roger C. McLaughlin, and wife, Leslie, and Darren McLaughlin; nephews, Troy L. McLaughlin, Wesley R. McLaughlin and Drew Galford; and a great-nephew, Liam A. McLaughlin.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, April 20, 2 p.m. at New Hope Church of the Brethren with Pastors Julian and David Rittenhouse officiating. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas PI, Memphis, TN 38105.

Arrangements are being handled by VanReenen Funeral Home.
