Richard E. Sharp, age 79, of Stephens City, Virginia, died Monday, May 2, 2016, at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Virginia.

Born in 1936 in Marlinton, he was a son of the late Mary and Lanty Sharp.

Richard was a 1954 graduate of Marlinton High School. He was a parts manager with Central Motor Company in Springfield, Virginia, retiring in 2006 with 45 years of service.

He married Wanda Friel August 13, 1960, in Marlinton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Lana Kay O’Grady, and husband, Mike, of Fairfax, Virginia, Kristie Sharp, of Lovettsville, Virginia, Hope Thoresen, and husband, Finn, of Berryville, Virginia, and Jill McKallip, and husband, Rob, of Forsyth, Georgia; an adopted daughter, Christi Trefny, of Centerville, Virginia; grandchildren, Lee, Amber, Shana, Eli, Brant, Reese, Logan, Brady, Conor, Rilyn, Ava, Maela and Isaac; his adopted grandson, Hunter; and great-grandchildren, Jayden, Jordan, Khloe, Anthony, Logan and Brayden.

Funeral service is May 5, 2 p.m. at Macedonia United Methodist Church with Pastor Mike Mayton officiating.
