Richard Moore

Richard Ellis Moore, age 68, of Jumping Branch, died Friday, October 6, 2017, at VA Medical Center in Beckley.

Born October 9, 1948, at Marlinton, he was a son of the late Melvin and Lucy Kellison Moore.

Richard was a retired truck driver for Walter Sheets Motor Trucking Company. He was Sea Bee in the United States Navy, having served three tours in Vietnam. He was of the Presbyterian faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Judy Sheets Moore and Patricia Sweeney Moore; brother, Harold Moore and an infant brother, Melvin Moore.

He is survived by his sons, Eric Marshall Harvey, of Daniels, and Richard Lee Moore, of Marlinton; sisters, Sue Helton, Jane Kelley, Sally Parks, Carol Moore-Beck and Patty Cloonan, all of Marlinton; a brother, Tom Moore, of Mansfield, Texas; grandsons, Tanner Moore and Ryan Moore; and a great-grandson, Lennen Murray.

Funeral service was held October 10 at the Edray United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeanie Nelson officiating. Interment was in the Mountain View Cemetery with Military Rites by the Pocahontas County Veterans Honor Corps.
