It is with great sadness the family of Richard Eugene “Rick” Chandler, Jr., imparts his unexpected passing at the young age of 45, Sunday, July 16, 2017.
Born July 20, 1971, in Lorain, Ohio, he was a son of Diana Marie Evans, of Lorain, Ohio, and the late Richard Eugene Chandler, Sr.
Rick moved to Jacksonville, Florida, with his mother and sister, Rebecca Elizabeth Chandler, where he attended junior and senior high school. Following graduation, he began his career in the construction industry and eventually moved to Marlinton.
He was an active member of the Cook Town Community Church in Buckeye. He had a passion for the outdoors and working in his garden and had a deep appreciation for the beauty and wonders of nature. He also enjoyed spending time with his nephews, teaching and taking them hunting and fishing around West Virginia.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a niece, Angel Kiya Chandler; grandfather, Robert Harold Evans; and grandmother, Ruth Ann Miller Carrero.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Rebecca Elizabeth Chandler, of Marlinton; nephews, Alex Chandler, of Maine, and Tyler Chandler and Derek Chandler, of West Virginia; and many aunts, uncles and cousins throughout Ohio and West Virginia. He will sorely be missed by Sally, his canine companion for the past three years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Cook Town Community Church at a later date.
