When Patrick Mitchell, right, of California, visited his family in Marlinton, he naturally brought his skateboard with him. He soon noticed the ramps at the Pocahontas County Parks and Recreation skate park at Stillwell were in need of repair. With the approval of Parks and Rec director Lauren Bennett, and the help of Daniel Scarbro, left, and Kim Lester, Mitchell got supplies to resurface the ramps. Last week, Mitchell and Scarbro tested the ramps and gave them their seal of approval. S. Stewart photos
