Ray Landis

Ray Lynn Landis, 82 of Hillsboro, WV passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital. Born February 27, 1939 in Stamping Creek and was a son of the late Ray and Mary Treva Webb Landis. He was also preceded in death by his wife Peggy Broyles Landis (2015), infant son, Ronald Lee Landis, and a great granddaughter, Aleah Barnisky.

Ray was a member of the First Baptist Church in Huntersville. He was a retired worker for the WV DNR fish hatchery in Edray, and numerous other jobs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Broyles Landis in 2015; infant son, Ronald Lee Landis; great-grandaughter, Aleah Barnisky; sister-in-law, Martha Landis; and brother-in-law, Bob Broyles.

He is survived by his son, Andy Landis, and wife, Sheila, of Marlinton; two daughters, Rayetta Barnisky, and husband, Thomas, of Marlinton, and Mandy Martin, and husband, David, of Millwood; two brothers, Jay Landis, and wife, Renee, of Sunnyvale, California; and Samuel Landis, of Petersburg; three sisters, Pat Landis McNeill, and husband, Stanley, of Buckeye, Louise Landis Broyles, of Hillsboro, and Janet Landis Meredith, and husband, Tom, of Fredericksburg, Virginia; grandchildren, Shannon Alder- man, Anna Landis, Jessica Bennett, Jennifer Green, Julie Cogar, Kayla Martin, and Daniel Barnisky; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

In keeping with Ray’s wishes, the body will be cremated.

A service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1601 Second Avenue, Charleston, WV 25387
