Ralph Warren “RW” Burns, 52, of Hillsboro, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020, at his home.

Born February 6, 1968, in Alderson, he was the only son of the late William Richard “Dick” and Ruby Lynn Hodges Burns.

RW was a graduate of Pocahontas County High School and Fairmont State University. He was passionate about bringing out the best in people, whether on the field as a Little League coach or in the businesses he ran in his community. RW was a devoted husband, father, and good and loyal friend to many. He attended the Oak Grove Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro.

Survivors include his wife, Terrell, daughter, Madeleine Abselle Burns, son, Warren Maverick Burns, close cousins, Rhonda Withers, and husband, Brett, of Marlinton, and Jamie McNeill, and wife, Heather, of Buckeye and a host of extended family, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Graveside service will be held Sunday, September 13, 2020, at 3 p.m. at the Emmanuel Church Cemetery on Bruffey Creek with Pastor Andy Rice officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 10, 2020, at the Lantz Funeral Home in Buckeye from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to the Hillsboro Fire and Rescue Squad, PO Box 81, Hillsboro, WV 24946 or the High Rocks Education Corp. Ruby Grow Project, 195 Thompson Road, Hillsboro, WV 24946 or at Highrocks.org
