Rebecca Sue Hannah Hollandsworth, age 87, of Slaty Fork, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017, at her home.
Born January 16, 1930, on Bridger Mountain (Bucks Run), she was the daughter of Ira Thomas Hannah and Hazel Virginia Weatherholt. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
A life-long resident of Pocahontas County, Sue served as Justice of the Peace, Magistrate and Municipal Judge.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Dale “Jack” Hollandsworth; 11 siblings, Clenston Cail, Ora Ethel, Ida Edith, James Kirk, Luceille, Ralph Mason, Margaret Millicent, Ira Thomas Jr., Charles Statt, her twin brother, Herold Sabin, and Jewell Lee; and her life partner, Lowell Gibson.
She is survived by her children, Melvin Dale Hollandsworth, Jr., of White Lake, Michigan, Charles Michael Hollandsworth, and wife, Evelyn, of Marlinton, Marzella Ann Hollandsworth of Ceredo, and Kellea Sue Hollandsworth, of Slaty Fork; five step-children, Harolronda Robbins, and husband, Bill, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Dee Ann Jones, of Hudson, Ohio, Lisa Currence, and husband, Bill, of East Daily, Robert Gibson, of Valley Head, and Roderick Gibson, and wife, Crystal, of Mill Creek; 22 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held September 19 at VanReenan Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Felton officiating. Interment was in Mountain View Cemetery in Marlinton.
