Harter Brothers Mill – circa 1906

The Harter Brothers Mill and Lumber Yard was located on the Greenbrier River, 5.0 miles northeast of Marlinton, W.Va. Brothers William J. and A. M. Harter came to Pocahontas County in 1903 from Coburn, Pennsylvania. They began operating a small band mill to cut timber on 1,400 acres located on Laurel Run and Clover Lick Mountain. The operation finished about 1911. (Pocahontas County Historical Society Collection; ID: PHS000611)
