Couple at Droop Overlook – circa 1940

An unidentified couple poses for a photo at the Scenic Overlook on Droop Mountain. The overlook on US Rt. 219 North was built following completion of West Virginia’s first State Park at Droop Mountain Battlefield. Motorists could look down on the Greenbrier River Valley using the moveable binoculars seen in this picture.
