A busy day on Main Street in Marlinton shows businesses on the south side of the street. The Smoke House is on the right and to its left is Tom Thumb’s. In the center is Lang’s Dress Shoppe in its third and final location. The store was started by sisters Mabel and Fleeta Lang in 1936. They closed “for a rest” in 1968 and reopened in 1970. The stock and building were bought by Harvey and Nancy Galford in 1974. The Lang Sisters were Honorary Marshals for the Pioneer Days Parade in 1976. Preserving Pocahontas Archives , ID: PHP002926
