Pete Tinney

Pete Tinney, Sr., of Marlinton, was called home to be with the Lord Saturday, June 13, 2015. He was surrounded by loved ones.

Born August 17, 1950, at Sutton, he was a son of the late Peter F. and E. Evelyn Tinney.

Pete was a faithful member of the Cooktown Church, where he was an Ordained Deacon. His love for the Lord was great, and it showed through his ministry and work with the church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors.

He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, husband and friend and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Tinney; and a step-son, Tyrone Shaffer.

He is survived by a son, Peter A. Tinney, Jr., and wife, Maria, of Houston, Texas; daughters, Stephanie Tinney, and David, of Ravenna, Ohio, and Krystle Farnsworth, and Dolan, of Lubeck; step-children, Beth Sabo, and husband, Denny, of Needles, California, Candi Shaffer, of Ashtabula, Ohio, Faye Shaffer, of Ohio, and Rick Yonker, and wife, Tami, of Garretsville, Ohio; brothers, Everette Lee Tinney, and wife, Dreama, of Marlinton, Homer Tinney, and wife, Rose, of Petersburg, Connice Tinney, and wife, Candy, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Eddie Tinney, of Florida; grandchildren, Joshua, Mackenzie, Hannah, Lance, Daniel, Amber, Ethan Leigha, Tess, Dolan, Jr., Alyssa, Renee and Aaron; two great-grandchildren, Suthryn and Dugan; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 27, from 11 a.m. to noon at First Baptist Church – Huntersville. Friends may visit during this time.
