Peggy A. Landis, age 72, of Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at Pocahontas Center in Marlinton.

Born October 14, 1942, in Marlinton, she was a daughter of the late Andrew James and Grace Biggs Broyles.

Peggy was a member of the First Baptist Church – Huntersville and was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Ronald Lee Landis; great-granddaughter, Aleah Barnisky; three sisters, Patsy Puffenbarger, Lilly McClure and Polly Dilley; and five brothers, Russell Broyles, Pete Broyles, Bobby Broyles, Larry Broyles and Bernard Broyles.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ray Landis; two daughters, Rayetta Barnisky, and husband, Thomas, of Marlinton, and Mandy Martin, and husband, Dave, of Ravenswood; a son, Andy Landis, and wife, Sheila, of Marlinton; four sisters, Marie Hannah, Nancy Broyles, Barbara Broyles and Brenda Broyles, all of Marlinton; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 31, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church – Huntersville with Pastor Phillip Thompson officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church – Huntersville, PO Box 59, Marlinton, WV 24954; or Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090-6011.
