PCHS soccer teams win sectional matches

Boys and Girls advance to Sectional Championship games on Thursday in Summersville

SOCCER REPORT FROM BOYS HEAD COACH CULLY MCCURDY

 

Sectionals opened on Tuesday at Nicholas County High School in
Summersville. The girls defeated James Monroe High School 2-0, avenging
two regular season losses to the Mavericks. The boys defeated Greater
Beckley Christian 10-0.

Both teams advanced to the Sectional Championship (Region III, Section I)
matches this Thursday, back at Nicholas County High School. The boys
Championship match is at 5:00 PM with the Warriors playing Nicholas County
High School and the girls follow play at 7:00 PM vs. Nicholas County High
School.

The winners of Thursday’s matches will advance to the Region III
Championship at the East River Soccer Complex in Beckley next Tuesday,
October 28.

The winners of the four respective Class A/AA Regions will comprise of the
final four that advance to the state tournament the weekend of November 7
and 8 in Beckley.
