Patricia Simmons

Patricia Ann Simmons, age 83, of Arbovale, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital in Buckeye.

Born October 5, 1932, in Elkins, she was a daughter of the late Troy C. and Hazel Stalnaker Johnson.

Patricia was of the Methodist faith and was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Gum; and a granddaughter, Krista Erin Ryder.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, James “Jim” Simmons; four daughters, Pamela Ann Ryder, and husband, Richard, of Beckley, Sheila Sparks, and husband, Willie, of Morgantown, Emma Colvin, and husband, Donnie, of Staun-ton, Virginia, and Doreen Cornwell, and husband, Robert, of Remington, Virginia; a sister, Rachel Blahut, and husband, Richard, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; a brother, Kemp Johnson, and wife, Clara, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held Sunday, June 12, 2 p.m. at the Arbovale Cemetery with Rev. David Rittenhouse officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
