In the high school/adult division, the winning team was “The Garbs” – Jarrett Taylor, Scott Garber and Briar Wilfong.

Pocahontas County Parks and Recreation hosted a three-on-three tournament March 25 at the Community Wellness Center in Marlinton. The first of its kind tournament was a fundraiser for Parks and Rec.

A total of 13 teams participated, and friends and family filled the bleachers to support Parks and Rec and to cheer for their favorite team.

“The event was definitely a success,” Parks and Rec Director Lauren Bennett said. “We were extremely happy with how the event turned out, and it looked like everybody had a really good time.”

With the success and energy of the tournament, many expressed interest in starting an Adult Summer Basketball League.  If anyone would like to pursue putting together a team or helping organize a league, please contact Parks and Recreation at 304-799-7386.
