Opal Green

Opal Barlow Green, age 93, of Frost, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Rocky Mount Rehab Center in North Carolina. She was spending the winter with her daughter and son-in-law, and had been in the Rehab Center for two months.

Born September 15, 1923, at Woodrow, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Bertha Barlow.

Opal loved being a mother and homemaker, taking care of her family and working in her garden and she had a passion for crocheting. She was a dear sweet lady and will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Green; three sons, Burton Kent Green (Ann and Linda), Jerry Wayne Green (Nancy) and Stanley Allen Green (Linda); and a grandson, Benjamin Pritt.

She is survived by her daughter, Sue Ann Jackson, and husband, Gene, of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Greg Jackson, Allen Wayne Green, Cheryl Dunaway, Terri Smith, Debbi Kjar, Destiny Green, Tammy Green, Stacey Green and Jamie Green, and their spouses; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and daughters-in-law, Ann, Linda, Nancy and Linda.

Family will receive friends Friday, March 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lantz Funeral Home in Buckeye. Funeral service is Saturday, March 11, 1 p.m. at the Frost United Methodist Church with Pastors Randy Simms and James Wentz officiating. Interment will be in the Cochran Cemetery in Onoto. A meal will be served at 4 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Frost Fire Department.
