Nettie Frances McCracken Parris, age 82, of Meadowview, Virginia, went to be with the Lord Friday, November 6, 2015.
Born February 15, 1933, in Washington County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Harrison and Hessie Greer McCracken.
Nettie was a member of the High Point Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Everett Parris; two brothers, Everett McCracken and Thomas McCracken; a sister, Louise McVey; and an infant sister, Anna Barbara McCracken.
She is survived by a son, Billy Joe Parris, and wife, Teressa, of Stuarts Draft, Virginia; six daughters, Barbara Tawney, of Meadowview, Virginia, Brenda Smith, and husband, George, of Buckeye, Linda Surber, of Marion, Virginia, Kathy Echard, and companion, Robert, of Big Springs, Janet Parris, of Meadowview, Virginia, and Donna Smith, and companion, Tim, of Marlinton; a brother, Isaac McCracken, and wife, Dixie, of Damascus, Virginia; two sisters, Mary Pippin, and husband, Albert, of Danville, Virginia, and Gladys Hodgson, and husband, Carl, of Fredericksburg, Virginia; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service was November 9 at Sunset Memorial Park with Pastor Tom Parris officiating. Pallbearers were Chris McVey, R.D. McVey, Kate Sheets, Brandon Smith, Jeremiah Smith, Josh Smith and Joey Tawney.
