Nancy Burks

Nancy Ann Burks, age 72, of Hillsboro, died Friday, May 20, 2016, at her home.

Born October 5, 1943, at Richwood, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Florence Barnette Alderman.

Nancy was a talented musician, artist, barber, seamstress, gardener and cake decorator. She was a member of the Mt. Kennison Church of God.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Earl J. Burks; a daughter, Amy M. Burks, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; sisters, Joan Woods, and husband, Frank, of Orlando, Florida, Linda Fertig, and husband, Bill, of Lewisburg, and Jo Rae Wood, and husband, Andy, of French Settlement, Louisiana; brothers, Freddy Alderman, and wife, Jetta, of Lakewood, Ohio, and Paul Alderman, and wife, Linda, of Unionville, Virginia; her wonderful nieces, whom she loved, Erin, Kim, Angie, Wendy and Melanie; her wonderful nephews, whom she loved, Drew, Scotty, Patrick, Johnny, Jeremy, Wes and Groffrey; and her cousins and friends, whom she loved dearly.

Nancy will be greatly and sadly missed, but our hope is we will be together again in the arms of our Lord.

Funeral service was May 23 at Mt. Kennison Church of God with Pastors Jack Burks and Charles Triplett officiating. Interment was in Sharp Cemetery in Mill Point.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care.
