It was a short night at the Marlinton Town Council meeting Monday with less than an hour of discussion for the short agenda.
Opening the discussion with his report, Mayor Sam Felton shared good news that two grants – the Commercial Block Grant for $3 million and the Corps of Engineer grant for $1.5 million – were both approved.
The grants will be used for the water and sewer project.
In other business, council approved:
• second reading of the changes to the Garbage Fee Ordinance.
• first reading of the Ordinance to Establish Minimum Setback Requirements.
• a $300 donation to Allegheny Mountain Radio.
• for Sam Dunn to continue work on the Source Water Protection Plan. Dunn gave an update to council on the plan and said he will have to have public meetings to share it with the community once it is complete.
Marlinton Town Council meets the first Monday of each month, excluding holidays, at 7 p.m. in the municipal building auditorium. The public is welcome to attend in person or online through a Zoom link.
