Michael Andrew Taylor, 69, of Dunmore, passed away at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital Friday, August 7, 2026.
Born October 16, 1956, in Marlinton, he was the son of the late Reuben and Frances Kelley Taylor.
Mike was a member of the Dunmore United Methodist Church, a dry kiln operator, carpenter and jack of all trades. Mike spent his free time in his woodworking shop. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing, and most of all loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Mike was a friend to many and stayed busy sharing his gifts and talents. Some of his best memories were spent lending a hand to anyone who needed it.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Taylor.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cynthia Doyle Taylor; sons, Drew (Trish) and Ryan (Beth); daughter, Courtney Gainer (Greg); grandchildren, Kinley Taylor (Wyatt), Wade Taylor, Luke Gainer and Khloe Gainer; sisters, Barbara Mason (Hugh), Connie White, Teresa Linear (Allan) and Amy Husky (Charles); special aunt, Zelda Chocklett; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, August 14, 2026, at the family farm between Frost and Dunmore (14103 Frost Road), with Pastor Amy Paul officiating. Friends may gather at 4 p.m. service will be held at 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Meadow Creek Holdings LLC, 4187 Frost Road, Marlinton, West Virginia 24954, with all gifts benefiting the PCHS carpentry department.
