Michael H. “Mike” Pyne, age 51, of Marlinton, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia, following a long struggle with cancer.

Born June 13, 1964, in Framingham, Massachusetts, he was a son of Francis J. and Phyllis Burr Pyne, of Hopkinton, Massachusetts.

Mike grew up in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, and worked in the construction industry before moving to West Virginia. He was a maintenance worker for Watoga State Park for more than 20 years, and was a Protestant by faith. He was very proud of his small farm and loved living on Beaver Creek.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Kelly Pyne, of Marlinton; a son, Jacob Pyne, of Marlinton; a brother, Kevin Pyne, and wife, Ellie, of Uxbridge, Massachusetts; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Pocahontas County Archery Team, 926 Fifth Avenue, Marlinton, WV 24954; or to any local community group.
