Mary Ella Snyder, 77, of Cass, peacefully passed away Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Mountain Memories Assisted Living and Retirement Center in Elkins.

Born March 9, 1947, in Cass, she was a daughter of the late Kyle and Ina Neighbors.

Mary worked as an office manager at Cass Scenic Railroad for more than 40 years.  She loved her home of Cass and Pocahontas County and spent many years working with the Pocahontas County Convention and Visitors Bureau to share that love with others.

Mary enjoyed a good laugh and talking to people – friend and stranger alike. She had a strong love for her family and friends. Her positive outlook on life made her a loving wife, caring mother and a wonderful friend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Joe Neighbors; and her sister, Marsha Lee Ware.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Charles Snyder; two daughters, Kyleen (Bobby) Shelton, of Morgantown, and Martha (John) Sheehan, of Grayson, Kentucky; grandson, John Charles Sheehan; numerous nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.

A private viewing for family will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale.

The family will then receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The Alzheimer’s Foundation, the Cass Community Center or a charity of your choice.
