Four years ago, the Marlinton Woman’s Club made a commitment of $5,000 to Pocahontas Memorial Hospital’s Capital Improvement Campaign. This pledge was to be paid in increments of $1,000 per year over a period of five years. The club has two main fundraisers each year – kettle corn and Easter candy. All of the monies raised go right back into the county in support of projects such as the one at PMH. Woman’s Club President Cindy Sabota and Treasurer Dottie Mitchell presented the fourth installment of the pledge to PMH PR Coordinator Susan Wilkins Monday in one of the newly refurbished rooms. The room upgrades are for the comfort, convenience and care of PMH patients, but attention to the whole family is evident in this room, which includes a rocking chair and straight chair situated around a small table, along with a small sofa that makes into a bed, providing another manner of comfort for family members as they partner with PMH to take care of loved ones.
