Last Wednesday in Petersburg, forty-four stakeholders, associates, guests and Town representatives attended the Spring Quarterly meeting of the Mon-Forest Towns Partnership. The packed agenda of the board continues to revolve around the advancement of the several collaborative projects, the sharing of town and partner updates, and coordination of regional initiatives, such as the expansion of bikepacking, self-assessments, public art and outdoor development.
Regionally, the meeting featured progress updates on ARC POWER programs, community connectivity planning, Thriving Communities projects, and new partnerships for web development and art installations. Attendees discussed legislative concerns, funding opportunities and regional branding efforts through events and digital platforms.
Locally, new flower gardens are in progress at Discovery Junction. The First Friday programs kick-off this Friday, May 2, with a theme to honor our youth.
Also, DOH Contractors are in Town doing slopes and markings on sidewalk corners.
