Marlinton Town Council adopted a resolution Monday night designating the Marlinton Mini-Park as the Roger L. Trusler Memorial Park.
The clubs, organizations, businesses and associates that Roger worked with over the years will be notified about the plans for the memorial project.
Organizations such as the Lions, Rotary, Boy Scouts and Retired Teachers Association may want to promote fund-raising campaigns. We want all parties to have the opportunity to contribute to this project.
This Mayor’s Corner is the first official Notice of our intent to begin a fundraising campaign to rebuild the Pavilion at the First Avenue Mini-Park in Honor of Roger’s many contributions to the various organizations and individuals in Pocahontas County. An estimate for the proposed work is being calculated. Any additional funds over estimate could be used to enhance playground equipment and/or other amenities.
An account has been established at The Town Office for this project. Donations can be made to The Roger L. Trusler Memorial Park.
