Marcia Y. Kuhn Hill, 70, of Marlinton, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023, after a short and courageous battle with leukemia.

Born September 30, 1953, at Keyser, she was a daughter of the late Roscoe and Ada Maxine Taylor Kuhn. The fifth of 13 children, she was raised in Mt. Storm and graduated from Union High School in 1973.

On March 17, 1974, she joined hands in matrimony with the love of her life, Edward R. Hill, embarking on a journey of love and partnership that spanned nearly five decades. They had two children, Brian and Chanda, whom Marcia dedicated her life to raising. She cherished her family and friends with an unwavering and fierce devotion.

Marcia was a woman whose faith served as a guiding light in all that she did. She was a loyal and active member of Marlinton United Methodist Church and Marlinton Methodist Women’s Group. She consistently extended a helping hand to those in need, whether through decorating, cleaning, serving meals, assisting at the food pantry, offering prayers of support, or simply being a compassionate listener for those seeking solace. She will be forever remembered for her loving, caring and selfless spirit.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey Kuhn; and a sister, Alberta Jean Kuhn.

She is survived by her husband, Edward R. Hill, of Marlinton; son, Brian E. Hill (Natalie Sal), and their two children, Braedyn and Rachael, of Morgantown; daughter, Chanda Hill Sciamanna (Anthony), and their son, Luca, of Springfield, Pennsylvania; six loving sisters, four loving brothers; and countless nieces and nephews.

A visitation was held at VanReenen Funeral Home Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 1 to 3 p.m.

A visitation will be held Friday, December 29, 2023, from 10 a.m. to noon at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg with the funeral service beginning at noon.

She will be laid to rest in Maple Hill Cemetery in Petersburg.
