According to Magistrate Court records, the following individuals were either arrested or had activity in their cases.

James Adam Burgess, 32, of Buckeye, appeared in court July 12 on charges of domestic battery, obstructing an officer, battery, destruction of property and battery on a government employee and/or medical personnel. Bond was set at $10,000.

Bryan Dewitt Thompson, 53, of Hillsboro, appeared in court July 7 on a charge of wanton endangerment involving a firearm. Bond was set at $10,000.

Scott E. Triplett, 45, of Hillsboro, appeared in court July 13 on a charge of depriving another of money, goods, property or service under fraudulent preferences or promise. Bond was set at $10,000.

Francis James Ward, 53, of Marlinton, appeared in court July 6 on a charge of falsely reporting an emergency incident. Bond was set at $500.

In Magistrate Cynthia Broce-Kelley’s court:

Brian Gregory Cannan, Jr., 38, of Marlinton, pleaded guilty July 9 to a charge of failure to obey highway signs. He was assessed $170.25 in court costs and fines.

George Matthew Harmon, 23, of Hillsboro, pleaded guilty July 10 to a charge of driving while license is suspended/revoked. He was assessed $265.25 in court costs and fines.

Patrick Leroy Lucas, 52, of Lookout, pleaded no contest July 7 to a charge of driving while license is revoked for DUI. He was assessed $365.25 in court costs and fines.

Gary Woods, 57, of Marlinton, pleaded no contest July 1 to a charge of reckless driving. He was assessed $215.25 in court costs and fines.

In Magistrate Carrie Wilfong’s court:

Austin C. Cadier, 19, of Flemington, was placed on a deferment plan July 7 for a charge of possession of a controlled substance. He was sentenced to six months suspended jail and six months unsupervised probation. He was assessed $165.25 in court costs and fines.
