According to Magistrate Court records, the following individuals were either arrested or had activity in their cases.

Coty S. Halterman, 23, of Cass, appeared in court September 11 on a charge of reckless driving. Bond was set at $500.

Michael E. Dunz, age unavailable, appeared in court September 12 on a charge of driving under the influence. Bond was set at $1,000.

In Magistrate Carrie Wilfong’s court:

David Adam Scott, 27, of Hillsboro, was found guilty September 11 of shooting across a road or near a building. He was sentenced to 100 days suspended jail, 100 days in the Day Report program and assessed $165.25 in court costs and fines.

In Magistrate Cynthia Broce-Kelley’s court:

Jack Edwin Cummins, 50, of Durbin, pleaded guilty September 8 to a charge of driving under the influence. He was sentenced to six months unsupervised probation and assessed $220.25 in court costs and fines.

Bradley George Sewell, 33, of Green Bank, pleaded no contest September 8 to charges of speeding and improper use of registration. He was assessed $370.50 in court costs and fines.

Paul Keith Little, 58, of Midlothian, Virginia, pleaded guilty September 8 to a charge of driving under the influence. He was sentenced to 180 days unsupervised probation, 165 days deferred sentence and assessed $220.25 in court costs and fines.

David Wayne Cassell, II, 26, of Cass, pleaded guilty September 15 to a charge of speeding. He was assessed $215.25 in court costs and fines.

A charge of possession of a controlled substance against Michael Craig Turner, 37, of Marlinton, was dismissed September 15.
