Madeline Rose

Madeline L. “Peggy” Rose, age 83, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at Pocahontas Center.

Born April 10, 1930, at Lobelia, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Ann Morgan Hollandsworth.

Madeline was a retired nurse aide and was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Hubert Rose; and a brother, Jack Hollandsworth.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Simmons, and husband, Claude, of Hillsboro; a son, Donald Rose, and wife, Vicki, of Hillsboro; two sisters, Mary Pantuliano, of Wilmington, Delaware, and Virginia Click, of Victoria, Texas; three brothers, William Hollandsworth, of Newark, Delaware, Sam Hollandsworth, of Buena Vista, Virginia, and Joseph Hollandsworth, of Wilmington, Delaware; four grandchildren, Stefanie Brown, and husband, Matt, Heather Simmons, and husband, Bob, Andrew Pritt, and wife, Stephanie, and Chris Rose; and six great-grandchildren, Michael, Elijah, Devin, Stephen, Sidney and Zoe.

Funeral service is Friday, December 20, 2 p.m. at VanReenen Funeral Home with Pastor Christopher Scott officiating. Interment will be in Emmanuel Cemetery at Bruffy’s Creek. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Youth League, Hillboro.
