This letter is a response to Jay Miller’s criticism of the Governor’s handling of the WV budget which reduced payments to a number causes he supports.
While I agree that all the programs he referenced in his letter seem to be well intended, the world is full of worthwhile causes, and we have limited resources.
Reducing the tax burden of all WV residents by shrinking government I believe is a positive development. Big government is in many cases not the answer but the problem. Look at the regulatory nightmares, high taxes and poor outcomes that California endures as a prime example.
Those that are concerned with these budget cuts might consider fund raising efforts to raise private money for these programs.
