Leo Mace Jr.

Leo William Mace Jr., 72, of Marlinton, passed away Friday, April 16, 2021, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. Born May 8, 1948, in Marlinton, he was a son of the late Leo William Mace Sr. and Mildred Regina Cutlip Mace.

Leo was a member of the Marlinton Presbyterian Church, and had worked as a mechanic for Mitchell Chevrolet for 42 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Suze McLaughlin Mace; and great-granddaughter, Lynnlea Turner.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy McPaters Mace; two daughters, Cherie Friel, and husband, Brian, and Carrie Hickman, and husband, Steve; four grandchildren, Sommer Hickman Turner, James Friel, Ryan Friel and Allison Friel; and two great-grandchildren, Kase Turner and Kenna Turner.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Marlinton Presbyterian Church with Pastor David Lee officiating. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to the Marlinton Volunteer Fire Department, 709 Second Avenue, Marlinton, WV 24954
