In a push to promote a connection between local farmers who supply the produce and products and the visitors who enjoy them, West Virginia State Parks is hosting Farm-to-Table dinner events which include a selection of appetizers, entrees and desserts.

Last Run Restaurant at Cass Scenic Railroad State Park will host its Farm-to Table meet and greet dinner Thursday, August 2.

The event begins at 5 p.m. with a meet and greet with farmers who have sourced the meal.

Appetizers, including maple pecan baked brie, deviled eggs, smoked trout, tomato tartlets, punch and teas will be served.
The buffet-style dinner will begin at 6 p.m., featuring a menu of baked steak, pork roast, herb roasted potatoes, sautéed cabbage, seasoned green beans, fried squash, grilled corn salad, garden vegetable pasta salad, marinated cucumber salad and rolls.

Top off the meal with desserts such as egg custard, yellow cake with maple buttercream, blueberry cobbler, apple rolls and chocolate zucchini cake.

The meal is $23.95 per person and the event is limited to 70 people.
