Larry Chestnut

Larry Joseph Chestnut, 88, of Neola, died Friday, December 20, 2024 at Genesis Nursing Home in White Sulphur Springs. 

Born August 1, 1936, Joe was a son of the late Edward Chestnut and Mabel Grace Trainer Chestnut.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Murl Chestnut, Bill Chestnut, George Chestnut, Howard Chestnut and Grady Chestnut.

He is survived by brothers, Franklin Chestnut (Dreama), of Hot Springs, Virginia, and Bernard Chestnut Sr. (Marie), of White Sulphur Springs; and sisters, Lucy Cahoon, of Clifton Forge, Virginia, Mary Grace Chestnut, of Lewisburg, and Erma Jean McKinney (George), of White Sulphur Springs. 

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024, at VanReenen Funeral Home in Marlinton.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m.

Burial will be in the Chestnut Family Cemetery on Little Back Creek, County Rt 601, in Bath County, Virginia.

A meal will follow at Mountain Grove Community Church.
