Lacey Rudd

Lacey Rudd, age 78, of Ocean View, Delaware, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at his home with his wife and brother-in-law by his side.

Born March 23, 1938, he was a son of the late Doke and Alice Rudd.

After graduating from Hillsboro High School, Lacey worked for 40 years in Baltimore, Maryland, as a corporate engineer and property manager. He worked for the owner of the Baltimore area Hilton’s condo, office and apartment buildings.

He retired in 2000, and moved to Delaware, where he continued to work part-time as a security guard at Treasure Beach Campground. He also worked for the DNR, talking to fisherman, and his favorite part of the job was mowing the highways with Tink.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, LD Rudd; a sister, Ruth Luzadder; and his dog, Ricky.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Phyllis Rudd; daughters, Brenda Creger, of Bel Air, Maryland, Teresa Rudd and Donna Shearer, both of Buckeye, and Paige Hawkins, of Franklin, Virginia; a step-son, Gene Barnett, of Baltimore, Mary- land; three brothers, Dale Rudd, of Texas, David Rudd, of Ohio, and Clyde Rudd, of Buckeye; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 22, in Reisterstown, Maryland.
