Kevin Dean Gillispie, HMCS retired Navy, age 47, of Waynesboro, Virginia, passed away Monday, October 13, 2014, in Waynesboro, Virginia.
Born January 20, 1967, in Staunton, Virginia, he was a son of Judy L. Howdyshell Gillispie, of Waynesboro, Virginia, and Sterle L. Gillispie, of Jamestown, Virginia.
Kevin was a retired HMCS with the United States Navy, having served more than eight years abroad in a nuclear submarine in the medical corps. He was a member of the VFW.
He was preceded in death by two infant brothers; paternal grandparents, Delbert L. and Virginia Mae Gillispie; and maternal grandparents, William H. and Clara O. Howdyshell.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Morgan, and husband, Chad, of Austin, Texas; a son, Tucker Gillispie, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, siblings, Terry L. Gillispie, and wife, Tina, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Anita J. Hartz, of Adamsville, Pennsylvania; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was October 18 at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale with Pastor David Rittenhouse officiating. Interment was in the Arbovale Cemetery with Military Honors by the Pocahontas County Veterans Honor Corps.
