Kenneth Eugene Irvine, age 47, of Marlinton, departed this life Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at his home, following a short struggle with a glioblastoma brain tumor.

Born July 4, 1968, he was a son of Alice Irvine, of Minnehaha Springs, and the late Dolan Irvine.

Kenneth graduated from Pocahontas County High School and West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He was employed by the US Forest Service, Marlinton Ranger District. He held a special certification as an advanced chainsaw operator and was certified to conduct chainsaw operation certification classes for forest service employees. He was a member of the New Hope Lutheran Church in Minnehaha Springs.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Otis and Naomi Kelly and Verlin Irvine and Elsie Irvine Napier; and an uncle, Riger Irvine.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by three sons, Clayton Cole Irvine, a student at the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy, Adam Wesley Irvine, a student at Glenville State College, and Ryan Patrick Irvine, a junior at Pocahontas County High School; a brother, Kevin Irvine, and wife, Pamela, and their two daughters, Kelly and Jamie, all of Poca; uncles and aunts, Jim and Eileen Irvine, of Marlinton, Tom and Sarah Sanders, of Beverly, and Eugene and Karen Kelly, of Covington, Virginia; a special friend and caregiver, Delia Delgado, of Morgantown; and a host of cousins and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his immediate family, his Forest Service family, his neighbors and hospice workers.

Funeral service was May 13 at Kimble Funeral Home in Marlinton with Pastors Jess Felici and Jason Felici officiating. Interment was in the White Cemetery in Minnehaha Springs.
