Kenneth Carpenter

Kenneth Wade Carpenter, age 57, of Valley Bend, passed away Friday, October 18, 2013, at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins.

Born August 11, 1956, in Pocahontas County, he was a son of Archie Raymond Carpenter, of Junction City, Kansas, and the late Sandra Jean Felts Carpenter.

Kenneth was an electrician and was a United States Army Veteran having served in Vietnam.

In addition to his father, he is survived by a daughter, Tera Hancock, and husband, Chris, of Cerulean, Kentucky; a son, Heath Carpenter, of Georgia, four grandchildren, Layton Hancock, Emily Hancock, Brooke Hancock and Nicole Carpenter; a sister, Vicki Shinaberry, of Durbin; a brother, Gary Carpenter, of Elkins; and companion, Kim Welch, of Valley Bend.

Memorial service was October 26 at the Durbin Church of the Brethren with Rev. Donnie Curry officiating.
