Kelli Sue Dempsey, age 44, of Summersville, passed away Friday, January 29, 2016, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

Born March 12, 1971, at Richwood, she was a daughter of Nierene Grizzell Sebert, of Summersville, and the late Seth Daniel Marks.

Kelli was a graduate of Rainelle Christian Academy and Bluefield State University. She was an administrative assistant at Mt. Nebo Elementary School and Summersville Middle School.

She was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church and was a devoted wife and mother who lived her life in Christ. She devoted her life to helping others and brought light to all the lives she touched.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Ralph Edward Hamrick; grandmother, Emogene Halstead; and a cousin, Craig Grizzell.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, John Dempsey, II; a son, Elijah Ray Dempsey; a daughter, Margaret Ann “Maggie” Dempsey; sisters, Teresa Ann Viers, and husband, Terry, Tammi Gregory, and husband, Mike, and Kim Totten, and husband, Johnny; a brother, Danny Marks, and wife, Tami; sisters-in-law, Judy Burnside, and husband, Allen, and Lesia Fleshman, and husband, Paul; a brother-in-law, Jeff Dempsey; father-and-mother-in-law, John and Raynell Dempsey; and several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Funeral service is Thursday, February 4, 8 p.m. at the Summersville Middle School with Pastor Doug Beam officiating. Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, PO Box 478, Mt. Nebo, WV 26679.
