Karissa Nicole Friel, age 12, of Green Bank got her wings Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Clarksburg, as a result of an automobile accident.
Born May 24, 2005, at Elkins, she was a daughter of Richard Andrew, Jr. and April Moyers Friel, of Green Bank.
Karissa was a student at Green Bank Elementary/ Middle School. She loved to hunt, fish and go shopping.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by three sisters, Kaitlyn Moyers, Peyten Friel and Lilee Friel, all of Green Bank; three brothers, Kolby Friel, Creedence Friel and Jaxson Friel, all of Green Bank; maternal grandparents, Marcia Thompson, and companion, Bob Casteel, of Frank, and Keith Moyers, and companion, Cynthia Moyers, of Green Bank; paternal grandparents, Richard Friel, and companion, Sara Warner, of Durbin, and Carolyn Vandevender, and companion, Percy Moats; maternal great-grandmother, Alice Moyers, of Bartow; paternal great-grandfather, Tommy Vandevender, of Bartow; aunt and uncle, Amanda Moyers and Rocky Ryder, of Thornwood; and beloved friend, Chrissa Grimes.
Funeral service was held April 8 at the Thornwood Community Church with Pastor William Vandevender officiating. Burial was in the Friel Family Cemetery near Green Bank under the direction of Lantz Funeral Home.
