Johnny “Rusty” Hall, Jr., age 69, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 7, 2017, with his children by his side.

Born April 15, 1948, at Marlinton, he was a son of the late Johnny Hall, Sr. and Jean Cloonan Hall-Scott.

Johnny was a United States Army Veteran, proudly serving his country with the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War as a paratrooper and combat medic. He was a Purple Heart recipient.

He retired from Raytheon in 2008, and happily spent his retirement fishing and relaxing with a cold Bud Light, almost always in the company of his grandchildren, who thought the world of their Papaw.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tamara Hall Sanders.

He is survived by his children, Johnny Hall, III, Jennifer Hall, and Barbra “B.J.” Arthur, and husband, Greg; grandchildren, Chad Sanders, and fiancée, Alyssa, Anthony Sanders, Kaden Batiste, Brooke Batiste, Logan Brock, Zack Brock, Justin Brock, Brittany Arthur and Jaylen Arthur; great-grandchildren, Camden, Kynlee, Easton and Maverick; and two step-sisters, Susan Scott-Guarneri and Anita Pidun, and husband, Uwe.

Funeral service was held November 15 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Greenwood, Indiana. Interment was in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or Disabled American Veterans.
