Johnnie Luther Brown, age 87, of Circleville, Ohio, peacefully went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 26, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family, following an extended illness.

Born July 28, 1931, in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia on the North Fork of Deer Creek near Arbovale, Pocahontas County, he was the eighth of nine children of the late Roscoe William and Clara Margie Hudson Brown.

After graduating from Green Bank High School, John joined the Air Force in 1951. He was a Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. While serving as a military medic, he traveled the world. While stationed in Zaragoza, Spain, he met the love of his life, Dot, Adoracion Martinez Mezquida. They married February 15, 1958, and recently celebrated 60 years of marriage.

In 1975, following 24 years of service, John retired from the Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant and relocated from Del Rio, Texas, to Circleville, Ohio, in order to spend more time with his growing family, whom he dearly loved. After his military service, he worked for the Veterans Administration Hospital for 20 years in the transportation department. He served his country for nearly 45 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Layke Brown and Robert Brown; sisters, Merylee Pennybacker, Ethel Higgins and Bessie Dickson; baby sister, Betty Irene Brown; infant sister and brother; and very special friend, Dan Fout.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his daughter, Anna Brown-Reese, of Chillicothe, Ohio, and friend, Mark Willis; a son, Rick Brown, and wife, Missy, of Kingston, Ohio; four grandchildren, Johnnie M. Brown, and wife, Brittney, and Katie Brown, and fiancé, Luke Thompson, all of Circleville, Ohio, Lindsey Brown, of Kingston, Ohio, and Zab Reese, of Chillicothe, Ohio; a rescue dog, Zoey and a rescue cat, Tiggy; and very special friends, Chase Dye and Carol Fout.

There will be no calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pickaway County Animal Shelter, 21253 Ringgold Southern Road, Circleville, Ohio 43113.
