Jerry R. Withers, age 75, of Gray, Tennessee, passed away Monday, May 22, 2017, at JCMCH, as a result of a heart attack.

Born December 14, 1941, at Marlinton, he was a son of the late Shannon Eugene and Jettie Jane Kelley Withers.

Jerry married his childhood sweetheart, Millicent Campbell, April 22, 1961. The couple recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.
The couple settled in Dale City, Virginia, and raised a family of three children, William, Jennifer and Charlene.

Jerry retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation after 37 1/2 years of faithful service to his country. He was a supervisory latent fingerprint specialist; and also served in the Disaster Squad. He was instrumental in identifying victims of tragic events. He was a member of Marvin’s Chapel Methodist Church.

After retirement, Jerry and Millie moved to Gray, Tennessee, and enjoyed their lives together and with family and friends.

Jerry was a gentle, compassionate and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his wife, Millicent “Millie” Withers; his children, William Withers, and wife, Jessica, of Asheville, North Carolina, Jennifer Lauer, and husband, Edward, of Florence, Kentucky, and Charlene Walker, of Knoxville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Samuel Withers, Wylie Withers, Elliott Withers, Andrew Lauer, Adam Lauer, Megan Walker and Robert Walker; and a sister, Sue Schultz, and husband, Raymond, of Marlinton.

A memorial service was held May 27 at Marvin’s Chapel Methodist Church.
