In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Suellen Cosby; and a brother, Theodore “Teddy” Taylor.

He is survived by his wife, Elke Neumann Taylor; two sons, Jeffrey Allen Taylor (Rhonda), of Dunmore, and Randy Lee Taylor, of Concord, Ohio; grandchildren, Courtney Taylor, Kendra Taylor, Zachary Taylor and Ely Taylor; great-grandchildren, Haiven Brown and Harlow Brown; two sisters, Jean Wimer, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, and Betty Lou Funkhouser, of Buena Vista, Virginia; and a brother, Ralph Taylor (Ruby), of Charlottesville, Virginia.
